Gigantic room, super quiet, the bath was super nice. If you order the food (not included) it is delicious (was not vegetarian maybe you need to ask in advance for that). Staff friendly. Had a very nice stay. Supermarket nearby

Even though the breakfast is buffet style, the quality is good. There was ample space in the breakfast area and good variety of food. The free shuttle is also very convenient and we did not have to wait long for one.

The house is well maintained and very clean, nice garden in a quiet area. Fully equipped kitchen with seasoning. We picked few pieces of sweet cumquat in the garden (sorry to the owner if it is not allowed).

Staying at this Atishika Bay beach house was perhaps one of our favourite stays in two weeks of touring the Kii Pennisula by car. We stayed for one night during the downtime season (March) while things were quieter, and that suited our temperament having just toured the Kumano Kodo Senzan. The owner's concept of this dwelling is to provide a simple and humble beachside retreat in which guests can while the days in relaxed manner. The house has everything provided for, and there are thoughtful personal touches: fresh orange juice from the owner's orchid; a list of recommended places to eat, places to walk the Kumano Kodo Isije route, and other nearby attractions; and books and art adding character to the rooms. The charm is in its very local, low-key, unpretentious, and community feeling.

It's one of many small towns along the Japanese coast . We picked it as a starting point for our river log rafting adventure in Kitayama. It was outside of the typical foreign tourist itinerary but that was what appealed to us. Our experiences there were wonderful with friendly, helpful people and a nice relaxed atmosphere. After Tokyo and Kyoto, this was just what the doctor ordered!
