Well located in Funchal, Barceló Funchal Oldtown provides air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a fitness center. The hotel is really good. Very centrally located however very quiet during the night. Room very clean, spacious with extra large bed. Nice breakfast as well served until 10:30 on weekdays and 11 during the weekends. Lovely roof top bar/pool area which I highly recommend.

Exeptional behavior of the staff made us feel as royals. Employees were offering helping hand in every step of the way. Room service coming to tidy up the room twice a day were highly appreciated. No funny fights for sunbeds near the pools, there were plenty of those enough for all visitors. Location is also great, it's cozy & quiet place however very close to city center and other interesting places.

What a memorable place to stay. Both for the enchanting location and the hotel itself - which is lovely with inviting rooms, terrific views, a welcoming staff, and very fine restaurants Everything was 5*****. We loved staying here so much, we plan on returning for as long as a month. Top notch!

Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 1.6 mi from the city center. The best hotel I have ever been to. Big room, very confortable bed, awesome bathroom, big balcony. The breakfast was amazing, very diverse and very tasty. Access to spa, swimming pool, live shows every evenings. Last day I felt sick and they let us do a late checkout up till 15:30 instead of 12, very kind of them.

Good location in Porto Moniz, all rooms have a nice view of the ocean, the cliffs, and a nearby fort. The facilities were very nice, one indoor pool, and one exterior infinity pool with amazing views. The breakfast buffet was exceedingly varied and tasty. Would definitely try to book them again if I ever return to Madeira.
