Arai Villa Myoko is located in Myoko, 47 km from Zenkoji Temple, 49 km from Nagano Station, as well as 23 km from Lake Nojiri. The house was spacious and comfortably furnished. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linen. The villa is close to Lotte Arai resort (about 5 minute drive) and the managers of the villa were extremely helpful in arranging transport for our group with a neighbour, who was charming and helpful. The manager also arranged dinner for us at a local restaurant which usually only offers lunch and this was a very special experience for us. The drying room was excellent for our ski gear. From the house are views of the surrounding rice fields and up to the mountains.

Located in Myoko, Myoko Forest Lodge provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a shared lounge and a bar. This place is amazing! The room was super clean, warm, and the bed was really comfortable. Good reliable WiFi throughout the lodge, and if you're a skier or snowboarder the drying room downstairs is perfect for storing your gear. The location is lovely and scenic but only a short drive to plenty of places to eat, the train station, and the various snow resorts; transfers to the resorts were easy to organise, and a few of the closer ones are offered free of charge (the further ones cost but are very reasonable). The traditional bath they have available is also incredible for a soak after a big day on the mountain! Chereyne and Brett are fantastic hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the area, very welcoming and happy to help with things like train station pickups, making local dinner reservations, making resort recommendations etc. They were also super accommodating of my dietary requirements (vegan) for all meals we ate at the lodge - amazing cooked breakfasts with continental options available too, and beautiful traditional barbeque dinners (they alternate with more western style meals and it's up to you which you want to eat in/out for). Myoko is a beautiful spot with some amazing snow to be enjoyed and it's super accessible from Tokyo, would absolutely recommend this place and hope we get the opportunity to come back!

Situated in Myoko, 31 km from Zenkoji Temple and 33 km from Nagano Station, Pension Moomin Papa features accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a garden and a shared lounge. Very helpful & lovely hosts. The onsen is great. Papa was happy to give us a lift. He even brought our bags to the train station when we missed the bus back from the snow monkeys.

Conveniently located a 4-minute walk from Akakura Onsen Ski Resort and a 4-minute walk from the bus terminal, Hunter Lodge offers free WiFi throughout the property and free luggage storage service. The staff was very kind. Breakfast was delicious every morning. Room was clean and well appointed.

Located in Akakura Onsen village and central to Myoko Ski Resorts, Myoko Ski Lodge in Akakura Village boasts beautiful views over the valley and free WiFi is provided. Wonderful Host couple... Amazing hospitality and wonderful facilities. Great singing as well

Located only 650 metres from Akakura Kanko Ski Resort and a 5-minute drive from Akakura Onsen Ski Resort, Myoko Mountain Lodge offers cosy rooms with free WiFi and free on-site parking. Michael and Tamami, hanging out with guests, very walkable to lifts and town, Michael’s tireless efforts for his guests

Boasting a shared kitchen and lounge, Kagura White Horse Inn is located in Yuzawa, within 100 m of Kagura Ski Resort Mitsumata Station. This lodge offers free WiFi and free private parking on site. Good location, only 100m from Mitsumata ropeway, convenient equipment rental, if not at WhiteHorse then many shops nearby. Room is clean, heater works very well, you will have a warm night sleep. I normally don't prefer carpet because of dust and cleaning is not very effective with carpet, but WH handles that with slipper area in hotel, making the carpet floor rather cleaner compared to other more expensive, higher-star, big chain hotels, which is very nice. And if you search around, there is no other place nearby with this good cleanliness rating at this price. The host is very very nice and helpful, explains thing very clearly, and with very good English. I will stay here again in my next trip to Mitsumata. And just some info for people choosing between ordinary and newly renovated room, since I got to stay in both types. The newly renovated, got a bit bigger area in the bathroom, shower enclosure, modern mixer faucet, and I guess new wash basin got kicked out into the bedroom instead lol. I didn't measure, but from guesstimation, I think the bed room got a bit smaller area because of that, but still more than enough. I am very familiar with small bedroom in various hotels in Japan, and this is quite big already for me. The ordinary room though, got the Japanese style cabinet bathroom, with build-in bath tub + shower + curtain + old style manual mixer faucet, washbasin and toilet altogether. Small area in the bathroom, and toilet (but again, I am very familiar with that, so no problem.) which makes bigger bed room. I could lie on the floor while packing my luggage lol. My ordinary room is on the front side of the hotel, I felt it was a bit colder, not sure because of old insulation or not but anyway, the heater is very good and I got no problem at all. Either type is superbly clean anyway. The common area is amazing, light cooking equipment, microwave, tables, sofa, ping-pong table. I could see other people have great time there. A really good place.

Offering mountain views, Morino Lodge - Myoko in Myoko offers accommodation, a terrace, a restaurant and a bar. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. The staff are awesome, make you feel at home and the entire vibe of the place is really relaxed. Big shout out to Dougie and the whole crew (sorry I didn't get everyone's names but they all remembered mine =)). The bartenders make great drinks, the drinks are priced really well (it's always happy hour), and the breakfast is solid every morning. The other facilities here are great for skiers/boarders. The dry room and waxing stations have everything and plenty of room for many guests. And a soak in their onsen was great every evening after ripping the slopes.

Offering ski-to-door access from Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort, a 1-minute walk away, Allumeur features ski gear rentals and both Japanese/Western rooms. What did you like? Everything. Staff is super nice and helpful. Will be back next season for sure!
