Most of the island's attractions - shopping, restaurants, hotels, the port to access other islands and the airport bus - are within a two minute walk of each other. I didn't visit the attractions outside of the centre because I didn't have a car and the local buses didn't run frequently but I had lots to do nonetheless. Took a very enjoyable day trip to Taketomi Island.

The accommodation offered a breathtaking view of coral reefs with a lush jungle as its backdrop. We spent our days walking down to the nearby beach, enjoying swims and snorkelling adventures in the warm waters. Our host even took us on a tour where he showed us clownfish, adding a layer of wonder to our stay. If you're a nature enthusiast yearning for a tropical escape that connects you with the natural world, this place is an absolute paradise.

I liked that you can get around in short time and still have a big variety of things you can do. I was there in Feb and no watersports was possible for me as it was too cold. Went to Karibe for a walk and to Iriomote for a bike ride.

A beautiful island, which is surprisingly big as it takes about 3 hours / 120km to drive the ourter circumference.
Once you get outside of the main town it is exceedingly quite, with beachtiful beaches and countryside.
A car is a must!
The main town has easy access by boat to other remote islands. Taketomi was only about 15 minutes away, with stunning beaches, a good bike rental service with shuttle bus from the port and ox-cart rides!

The rooms are big and the view to the sea is great. The food in the hotel is very good (both breakfast and dinner). The staff of the hotel is extremely helpful and English language would be no problem. It’s also very nice that you can take the kayaks from the hotel to visit the mangroves which is an amazing experience. You will also receive good tips about the island from the host. We also enjoyed being at the quieter part of the island as we rented a scooter and could make trips around.
Perfect Place for Swimming snorkeling and kayak! There are so amazing beaches which you can explore by Kayak (Hotel own Kayak and free of Charge) starting directly by Hotel own beach! Furthermore very reasonable car rental by hotel and no matter what you are planning to do, hotel staff will give very helpfull Tips! The Perfect Place to reach all the nice places of the Most beautiful northern part of the island… very clean room!
Jordy was a very conscientious and thoughtful host. We had everything we needed at this well-equipped place. It was a lovely stay. Parking was easy, right off the beach, near the mangroves, kayaking available... hotel next door had good food. Very quiet. He let us borrow his telescope, perfect for stargazers.. Internet worked great, my son did not complain about his gaming. It was a relaxing place to stay!
A beautiful secluded location with choices of several sandy beaches which were effectively private. The decent-sized room had a great view of the sea. Real tasty meals - we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The real selling point were the staff - they were the most human and humble people we met during our trip to Japan. They make this boutique hotel very special. So friendly and helpful.
We have been to Ishigaki Island many times and have enjoyed all kinds of accommodation. If you go for shopping, nightlife and action, this is definitely NOT your place. But if you are looking for a place to relax, in beautiful surroundings, with a beach all for yourself, gorgeous sunsets, and a very well equipped house along with great hosts, this is the perfect place to stay.
The staff in the restaurant were the nicest people we met in Japan. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. We booked the BBQ for one of the nights and it was a highlight. The hotel is in a fabulous location with (in our opinion) the best beach on the island, which we had to ourselves almost. We would recommend getting a car for your stay!
Despite being an unmanned hotel, the check-in procedure was very simple. Parking was a little confusing, but we worked it out eventually. Clean, spacious, and with all the required amenities. Good value for money.
It's slightly far out from the main street of ishigaki, but there are plenty of taxis to choose on the street outside.
Location was on a gorgeous sandy beach with boat tours that left right in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great, the room was spacious and had an amazing view of the ocean, and the staff was very nice and helpful. There were two small shops in the hotel and you could rent bicycles to go to Kabira.
My stay at this hotel was amazing. The staff are so kind and friendly and very helpful, offering to drive me to many different sights and always making sure I was comfortable and enjoying my time. Thank you again so much!! I look forward to staying there again next time.
The beach and the pool are very good. The whole hotel like a tropical paradise. They giving you the towels at the beach. For the breakfast and the dinner you have plenty of options and they are changing every day.
Great shuttle bus service.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, delicious and great variety. The pool and beach were also very nice, well laid out and with excellent activity options right from the hotel. The shopping onsite was good, but somewhat pricey.
it’s very very central. 5 mins walk to the ferry to the other islands and lots of bars, restaurants and shopping just at the foot step. the hotel is very clean and staff is great. free coffee and drinks whole day is good.
Close to the harbour so easy to get ferries to the other islands.
Clean and very comfortable. Very spacious for a Japanese apartment. Well equipped Helpful owner
The staff was amazing!
The hotel is very well located, very clean and cosy.
I'll definitely book a room in this hotel the next time I'll go to Ishigaki.
