The House of Passion is a rather delightful "old world" spot, laden with character and charm, redolent of the colonial era
The staff are approachable and accommodating, the atmosphere relaxed and convivial, and the food very tasty.
All in all, a very pleasant oasis in the midst of all the madness 😀

A bit thank you to the staff of Villa Amphawa for being very friendly and helpful. Beautiful clean rooms, comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast in quiet location. It was great to hire a bicycle ( free of charge )to explore the neighbour hood and the local floating markets. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even arranged a private transfer to hua hin for a very reasonable price by pick up truck. They also called a tuktuk for us twice which was cheaper than the one we had to take to get back and was always at the hotel in a few minutes. For a quick stopover it has everything you need and for the price it is okay.

There are many things to do. We were there during the week so the floating market was not in full swing but we were busy for three days. Recommend having a small car but taxis also available. Great restaurants all over the area and fantastic seal food AA it’s also a fishing base. Umbrella train is worth taking for a short trip as well.

Great for a weekend away where you can enjoy a temple visit and the floating market.
Not much choice of entertainment but a few nice restaurants one of which has live music. Enjoyed our meal and the music at Chalsamran Restaurant.

There's no transportation or local business. They have no food or facility's to cook. However the cabin style room was very nice and the deck over looked the river. I enjoyed the birds and fish its a very peaceful place. Rent a motorcycle and enjoy this very special aria.

Right now, during the pandemic Amphawa is largely deserted and the floating market was not open Sunday at noon - don't know if it was open earlier or on Saturday. It could be closed due to the pandemic. Normally it is only open on weekends.
I have been to Amphawa several times and quite like it. It was fine with me that it was largely deserted, though it's hard for the people who depend on tourists to make a living. I did miss some of the food from the floating market, but the Amphawa Sri Cafe in the Chuchaiburi hotel was very good. It was very quiet and relaxing to sit overlooking the klong and drink cappuccinos. All the food we had there was good - a few dishes were outstanding - in particular the Ice Cream Kathi Keweenam Dam and a version of Miang that was came with dried coconut meat mixed with herbs rather than shrimp or fish.

I am afraid to say for the first time in thirty years of visiting Thailand I experienced racial hatred against westerners. Two restaurants we visited where openly abusive
It is such a shame because the majority of the people are lovely and friendly

Relatively easy to get to from Bangkok by car, if you are confident enough (and have a handy navigator available). Of course there are many ways to get there, including organised tours.
The floating market is open every day with the weekends being the busiest times naturally. Highly recommend visiting Amphawa when you have the opportunity.
The couple running this place were very friendly and helpful. It was only 5 mins walk to the small town. The accommodation i had was a 1 room bungalow in the garden. So peaceful. There is not much to do here other than chill out, walk along the river bank and go to the train market. 10 baht shared minivan. There is supposed to be a floating market here but I did not see it probably the wrong days or it had sunk.
Very nice traditional Thai homestay style, arty and creative touches throughout. Lovely simple breakfast, good value for the price, included tea, coffee, toast and jam, eggs, rice soup and fresh fruit. The staff were very kind and friendly too. Unfortunately the boat wasn't running to the floating market in the day we arrived but it's only a 5-10minute drive away.
Breakfast plentiful
Staff speak very good English
It's our third time back
Place is authentic and old with cool decorative pieces
Room aircon fantastic
Parking is close 100m or less
Right on canal but 50m off main drag so less tourists bothering you.... no public thoroughfare past the hotel so you have the canalside to yourself.
Staffs are extremely nice, attentive and friendly. Location is very near floating market. Swimming pool is a plus. Especially salt water pool. I can just step off my room, step into the pool. Breakfast is served right in front of my room. I can ask for more. Staffs are pleased to make my stay as best. Thank you.
The hosts of the homestay were lovely. They made sure that we had everything we need, and even helped us arrange transport to our next destination.
They spoke good english, and communicating with them was effortless.
I would definitely recommend staying with them!
The owner is very kind and accommodating. He picked me up and dropped me off to the market every time as the location is a bit far from the floating market (10 mins walk). The room is spacious and good design. The hotel itself is by the river which is very nice.
I liked the location ( right in between the Amphawa local market and the Damnoeng floating market)
Loved the room with little terrace facing the pond, the little restaurant facing the river.
Beautiful grounds, very stylish. Staff extremely polite and helpful, particularly Khun Kik. Refreshing pool. Not far from the floating market. Serene surroundings….
Nice and cozy room, good breakfast, very nice decoration and delicious food in “Amphawa Sri” restaurant, remarkable museum, and must see jade shiva linga statue.
