Great location and fabulous room (top floor with balcony). The two ladies in reception were lovely - showing much patience and humour with my attempted Portugese. Bike was stored safely. Breakfast was great. Great stay / made by the reception ladies. ❤️

I like everything about this hotel, from the minute I arrived until I left two days later, the experience all over was very good. The friendly host, great sense of humor, helpful and always available at the front desk. The room has a friendly cosy atmosphere and vibe, also clean and bed comfortable. Small bathroom but everything you need. The location also very central and close to beach and good restaurants.

I went in the off-season and did not go to the casino.
I went in the off-season and did not go to the casino. The incredibly large beach made for great walking. The boardwalk and the promenade were excellent for walking, too. Not a hilly town, per se. And I don't think i would care for high summer season. Uber is easily available and taking the train to / from Coimbra was inexpensive and easy.
I am a serious walker (average 6-8 miles a day) so I found the town easy to navigate.

We spent most of our time close to the Hotel and at Praia da Claridade/ Praia Alto do Viso.
Since it was just one night, we couldn't bring a lot of comments to this.
Nevertheless, we walked thru the night and we had dinner at Feito ao Bife, which is a very nice meat place, where you can eat different types of meat on the stone.
People from Figueira are very kind and warm.
They offer a lot of services and there is as well a Casino if you like to try your luck.
The city in a half season is quite easy to walk or drive.

Figueira da Foz seems to be a working town, not too much of a tourist town. Although it was not beach season and the beach was fog covered, it was very large and beautiful. We found some very good restaurants with traditional Portuguese food.

We loved Fig da Foz!
We loved Fig da Foz! A fairly quite resort town, just what we like! The only drawback is a pulp or paper mill located south of town. When the fog comes in so does the smell of the mill. We would consider living here if the mill is not a huge problem.

I was there in September and it was already dead.
I was there in September and it was already dead. Loads of things closed.
It's pleasant enough with good public amenities but there really isn't anything to do except explore the excellent beach.
Getting around without a car can be a challenge: the station is 25 minutes from the beach and although quite a few buses go to the market (much fewer to the beach) it's close to impossible to find out about them.
I hardly ever saw a taxi.
The best bit for me was lunch at the excellent Cafe Praca 18.

The Claridade Beach is the best place I have visited in Figueira da Foz, lots of seafood and restaurants near by. Jet7.5 near Praça do Forte is a great restaurant with live music! Worth to have a try. I quite enjoy walking by the beach, so all my visit was on foot.

Apartment very large, located in a very clean and safe building were it is a good elevator! The street building is very safe and as well as entire Figueira da Foz!
We found in the apartment all necessary to feel at home: the kitchen having enough utilities for cooking, good fridge and good washer!
Good TV with hundred of channels!
The view from the windows is to the Est wich is very nice in the sunny days!
Proximity to the river Mondego and to the city center!
Tiago and Joana at the Front Desk were so gracious and helpful! The room (707) was so spacious and had the most
beautiful view of the ocean. The hotel is located right opposite the ocean and the boardwalk, and yet it is only a short and inexpensive taxi ride from other parts of Figueria da Foz. I had a wonderful relaxing stay, and enjoyed the fitness area, where you will find a Turkish sauna, a gym and an indoor pool.
This is a lovely house with even lovelier staff. I was teleworking and needed a quiet place to work, so the staff let me check in 2 hours earlier and on the day of my departure let me use the breakfast area until the evening, brining me cookies and coffee to make sure I was comfortable. I really appreciated this flexibility.
I loved the design in the hotel and the attention to detail. The breakfast is amazing.
I usually only rate by numbers without a comment but this place surely deserves it.
Absolutely stunning guesthouse. The owners put so much heart, hard work and thought into renovating the building. Super friendly and welcoming staff. A small but high quality breakfast buffet that has something for everyone. Highly recommended - this is the place to stay when you are in Figueira da Foz.
great view out at the ocean and lighthouse, easy access to the beach and restaurants. The hotel is nice and I liked the old style of wood and all the unique little artistic wooden boats that decorate the hotel. We had an ocean view room. The beach is huge so it's a walk to get all the way to the waves, but this is a great location. I would stay again!
The location is like a hotel with several rooms and a common area with a kitchen. There's no services from the staff apart from the general cleaning. That's odd but also nice since you'll meet the other guests.
The beach is the main thing, very close and really nice. Getting out of the little village (no ATM and only small mini markets) needs a car.
Hotel is nice and price to quality ratio is what's expected, talking about the building and accomodation.
My bad mark comes from the very high stress level I experienced and the rudeness of the staff.
I wanted to go for 1 but i've decided to go 2 for the other qualities of the hotel, I guess.
Despite chosing the hotel based on its location, it was the decoration that made us fall in love with our choice! The hotel has been recently remodeled and it just suits Figueira's vibe and history perfectly! The staff was also extremely kind and helpful, making us feel at home right away.
Everything was really good as always. The pool and views of the ocean are great! Breakfast is pretty good, however they just need better coffee in the hotel bar, don't waste your money on it :) They only give you one capsule in the room per day so drink it wisely :)
We really enjoyed every moment in this accommodation. The staff was super friendly and helpful with every request we had. The place and location is amazing just from of the beach. The hotel's facilities are absolutely fantastic, you will find everything you need.
Big airy rooms, great location, good staff and a lot better than expected after reading all the negative comments. Yes the hotel is slightly dated but rooms clean and it's a great location. We didn't bother with the spa as the beach is just outside.
The hotel staff was amazingly nice. The room we had was excellent. the breakfast was the best of all hotels we stayed at by far. The only place that serves butter and not margarine. The cheeses and the pastries were high quality.
An extremely charming, cozy and beautifully decorated hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were quiet, clean, well-maintained and had comfortable beds. I’d definitely stay there again.
The suite was huge and had a wonderful terrace to watch the ocean from. The bed was super comfortable. Waking up to the view from the 14th floor was amazing. Stay here. It's cheap and great!
Perfect location for our first visit to Figueira da Foz, staff was very hospitable and accomodating, breakfast was great -- will definitely stay at Marina Charming during our next visit.
