The private pool and room/bath over looking the sea was fantastic. You could listen to the waves with the patio door open even though it was a little cold.
There were many nice touches like make your own bath salts and toast marshmallows.
The staff struggled to speak English but tried so hard and were so friendly.
Hot pot in your room was so good.

This has been the best island that we have visited to date very clean great beaches and plenty to see
Traveling around was easy as roads are good, Sat Nav in rental car was a bit hit and miss
There different colors of the sea are a must to see and take pictures
We were very lucky had a BBQ at a popular beach and it happened to be a very good place to see a sunset that evening

The center city is not very lively or pretty.
The center city is not very lively or pretty. The island is rather rural with lots of banana, tobacco, and sugar cane plots. However, the suburb areas near the beaches are beautiful. I would recommend a resort as the available activities are limited to outdoors and dining. A car is required to get around. Unsure if there is any nightlife in the area.

Wonderful and beautiful place, the color of the sea amazing, many interesting sites to visit BUT you NEED a car (to rent a car). The public transportation is almost non existent (there is a bus to the airport). The island is too big for the bicycle, and too hilly.

During Golden Week, you must book an Izakaya for dinner ahead of time. If you try to walk into a restaurant, they will be fully booked or not let you in. Some of the locals seemed to discriminate against foreigners but not other Japanese tourists.

It’s a magical island and I didn’t see as much as I wanted due to a 4 day typhoon where we needed to stay inside…typhoons are common but not this long! But the accommodation was very flexible and offered extra nights at reduced cost
I’ll be back to complete my sightseeing outside of typhoon season!

Beautiful place, nice diving and snorkeling sites, since this is a remote island, the sea and environment are preserved well, you may enjoy the underwater world with just 2 hours flight from Hong Kong
It is a spacious apartment located in a big complex of rental apartments. It is not a resort per say. Wifi was working well. Location is convient - some 10min walk to a couple of beaches and several restaurants and combinis. City center is some 20min walk away or 600yen taxi away. Loads of parking spaces available by the complex. The staff is very helpful. There are some discounts on car rental services and free airport shuttle bus is a great a addition.
We loved everything about this place! Atsushi and staff were absolutely amazing - so friendly and helpful, Atsushi even took us snorkelling!
The place is cozy, clean and very close to a small beach. We had everything we needed and more during our stay and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to stay on miyako island! They also have a very cute dog and offer a car rental service which you definitely need to make the make of the island.
The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff were amazing. They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown and need a quiet residential area. enjoy at your own terrace with good coffee!
supermarket
local restaurants
24h convenience store
are within 10min on foot
highway bus terminal is 15 min (8min by local bus)
The hotel was in a central location to restaurants, bars, and shops. It’s a far walk to the beach. The restaurants claimed to be full, so make reservations before going.
Definitely rent a car to be able to explore the island and the connected islands.
The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable. The rooms are a very nice size. The breakfasts were fine, Japanese style.
The owner is very friendly and the place has a good homey atmosphere which lets every guests getting to know each other and getting along easily. The location of the hotel is superb with a beach right in front of it!! And it's close to all the amazing beautiful snorkeling spots in Ikemajima Island (the owner will tell you the best spots)!!
One of few affordable stays that gives you ocean views. You need a car if you stay here but if you have one it has easy access to most places you’d like to get to. Balcony is a big plus. Kitchen and the utensils are basic but satisfactory. You have access to the facilities at the main Shigira resort.
My son's family loved the place. He was grateful. He seemed panicking at first because there was no instruction, but it was my bad because I didn't check my email. Everything was written with pictures in Japanese and English. They were able to have a good time with his family and kids.
It's like you're actually living in downtown Hirara. Supermarket and convenience stores are nearby, and if you drive or cycle, so are the beaches and sightseeing spots. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and I saved money by cooking some meals. Great place for workation.
location, spacious parking lot, and beach view. I chose this after I stay at the same hotel in Ishigaki. very homey. I could do the laundry after diving. location-wise, very close to Irabu island. love the room layout (305) - spacious, living room, working station.
Central location on the island, spacious room, and washing machine available for use in the room. Beach equipment (i.e. snorkel, fins, life vest, beach towels) available for rent. Unable to accommodate for early check in, but was able to store our luggage.
Great view and really nice restaurant that saved our lives, because there is nowhere to eat on entire island. Restaurant stuff was wonderful too! They remembered what we liked and followed every day🫶
We had dinner at wafutei (a big family restaurant) just a few min walk from the hotel.
Everything in hotel is new and clean.
washing machine is free and there is dry mode in shower to hang clothes.
We walked to eat dinner from this hotel. and it is good easy to find it. Also we was able to watch the sunset from the balcony. The breakfast was delicious and I loved the library space.
The apartment is comfortable.
It was useful to have a kitchenette.
Staff was helpful.
It is recommended to rent a car to move freely around the island. The Pine Rental is a good choice.
Masaski is so nice and so helpful. We had a great stay at his guest house. Very clean and well furnished place.
Definitely recommanded for having good time in Miyako island.
