Traveling to Japan twice a year for more than 10 years now, including many study trips, I can say with some assurance that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed. Simple and friendly check in. « Large » rooms, by Japanese standards. No coupon for breakfast, just walk in! Honnest buffet as well. Good location within walking distance to the train station and Ise Jingu Geku (to
me, as interesting if not more than the inner Naiku temple), and many restaurants nearby. Paying parking but otherwise priced just right. Definitely a good value option in Ise.

The ryokan is conveniently located near to the train station and just in from of the beach. I loved immediately the atmosphere of the ryokan and the bath space. The lovely owner made me feel at home and I cannot wait to go back for another holiday.

The proximity to the train station was perfect.....and although we overlooked the tracks, we didn't hear anything.

It is important to put this hotel into the right context vis a vis value for money. It is a no-frills hotel which is excellent value for money staffed by people who really went above and beyond on a specific issue for us. As foreign tourists, we felt very well looked after and could not say enough kind things about the staff.

The hotel is just a five-minute walk away from Ise's train and bus stations, and though unremarkable in style is clean and comfortable - the pillows especially! Our twin room, though not expansive, was of a decent size, and the bathroom was bright. A restaurant was attached to the hotel, and though we didn't try it, we were attempted by the discounted beers on offer during a happy hour in the early evening, especially since it served a couple of Ise Kadoya Brewing's excellent offerings.

I visited Ise to see and experience Ise Grand Shrine. I am interested in the mythology about Japanese shrines and also in the Imperial Family system. My parents visited Ise when they were young and I wanted to do the same trip.

IseShi is an important city to visit if you like Shine. There are plenty of Shrines and you will have not enough time to visit this place if you want to explore all of the Shrine. Also don't forget to taste the Ise Lobster and the Matsusaka wagyu beef.

The Ise area has so many positives and sights to see! The temples of course but there is the seaside to the north as well as the natural beauty of the whole peninsula that we would love to see more of, we should have booked for a week!
Ise city itself was very tidy, and clearly well organised and set up for tourism with walking streets and beautiful shops on the main street from station to Ise Jingu Shrine. We would still love to visit the Okage Yokocho ancient street area and all the other temples south of Ise!

Meoto Iwa was a good place, but getting there was sligthly confusing (mostly due to me misreading Google Maps instructions and ending up at a different station =);
Ise's shrines were great, I really recommend Okage Yokocho and the Uji Brigde: perfect for a nice walk with great landscapes and sceneries.
Ninja Kingdom was also an interesting experience, but as non japanese I cannot recommend the Real Life Game; so the time spent there was around half a day. From there, the Meoto Iwa is not far, so I would advise to combine both, if found interesting.

Great place if your looking for a shrine pilgrimage (many shrines in the city), especially since Ise Grand shrine is the most sacred shrine in all of Japan. Many shrines to visit (recommend Futamiokitama Shrine as well). There are many fun shops and restaurants/ food stands around Ise Grand Shrine (Naiku). The downtown area around Iseshi station also has a lovely street of shops and restaurants. Many buses and trains that run frequently to take you to many places.

Visiting the two Ise shrines is very worthwhile.
Visiting the two Ise shrines is very worthwhile. The street leading up to the Naiku Shrine, bustling with restaurants and shops, is fun. If you can go to Toba, it is an interesting side trip. Mikimoto Pearl Island. Fishing port. Two nights, rather than just one night, would be a good idea.
Good location by KINTETSU stations, in a quiet, traditional neighbourhood with pharmacy, supermarket, FamilyMart around. The house itself is a traditional Japanese building, well-preserved and refreshed, with modern toilet, bathroom, kitchen, living room and facilities. Decorations make it feel warm and homelike. The host is warm-hearted, and resolves our problems quickly. We just felt as in a time travel back to the old time.
From the pictures alone I did not know what to expect coming in, especially considering the rather low price per night... but to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement! Hoshidekan is a little oasis in the middle of... well... a pretty empty area. The building is gorgeous, and the rooms fairly sized (the one I stayed in was completely fine for 2 people). Staff was also very friendly and helpful!
The location was great, within walking distance to the outer shrine. The rooms are well designed and layout, and include a useful kitchenette area with microwave and cooking utensils. Only downside is the lack of housekeeping during the stay. Be prepared to bring down your own trash and clear the garbage bins. Nevertheless, would still highly recommend this hotel for visit to Ise city.
Welcome is fantastic. We could get the room at 1pm.
The room is large and very traditional. we leave for two nights like Japanese.
The bathroom experiment was new for us. We enjoy after the long journey.
The location of the hotel is just close to the train station, very easy to reach Nagoya and Toba.
The breakfast was well served in a dining room
Beautiful new property with lovely clean, airy interior, friendly helpful staff, great location short walking distance from Iseshi station and lots of good eateries all around. Modern locks to access property and room, and an entire floor for female dormitory. The perfect base to explore Ise, Toba and surrounding areas.
Although Picture in Website quite look like old hotel. but i think this is a kind of Old Style Ryokan that make me like and impress a lot. Room in Japanese Style 's very big and look not old. share bathroom quite small but very clean and so private in case that not too much customer. very near from Iseshi Station.
Everything about the experience was great. We arrived early and the staff allowed us to drop our baggage off and leave it until check in. When we left, we asked if the hotel would hold our baggage again and they said it was fine. The breakfast was also great as well. Would definitely stay here again!
The best hostel I have ever been! Breakfast was very delicious. The owner is a kind gentleman. we had dinner at the hostel’s bar which was amazing that we decided to have dinner at the second night. The room, bed and shower room was very clean and cozy. I didn’t hear any noise when I fell asleep.
The best rural hotel I have been in Japan so far. Such quality is hard to find unless you pay a fortune. Very nice hot pool area including outside pool. Impressive lobby. Free shuttle from/to JR station.
Very polite and excellent staff.
Really cute and cozy space for a stop in Ise Shima. Lovely rooms, really welcoming atmosphere, good location near the ise Shima station and easy to get to Ise Shima shrines from there. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Everything. All the facilities are perfectly clean and new. Cabins are equipped and spacious and it definitively worth spending a night in this guest house. If I come back to Ise I would repeat without a doubt.
It looked like the hotel had been renewed recently, so the interior was very nice and modern. The staff were friendly and the laundry was free to use (nice). ¥100 for the dryer (10 mins). Price was decent.
Staying in a gorgeous and old temple is just unique. It will remain one of the best places I ever stayed, not just in Japan but anywhere. (and I've been around for a while ;))
Classic Japanese Inn run by 5 generations….oozing history. Very helpful staff who made time to explain the workings of the place and to help with anything required.
Perfect hotel to have some relaxing times. The staff tried their best to communicate and were very supportive! Amazing inside onsen to enjoy! 本当にありがとうございました!
