There were beautiful gardens in the city including the wonderful botanic garden. The castle was also interesting. In addition, Okayama is a wonderful place to stay with day trips to wonderful cities/sites such as Hiroshima, Kurashiki, Naoshima or Himeji Castle.

Besides having a few interesting sightseeing options of its own (castle, Korakuen garden), Okayama is a very convenient place to stop for a few days because it's close to other popular places to visit (Kurashiki) and a gate to visit northeastern Shikoku

Okayama itself is worth visiting to see, but it's especially good to use as a hub as it connects the north, south, east and west of Japan via the Shinkansen and local trains. It's particularly great as a base from which to explore Shikoku via day trips.

Excellent location. The amenities were very good.
Excellent location. The amenities were very good. They had a big Onsen bath on the top floor. The room was tiny and bed was uncomfortable. Even though I stayed one night, I couldn't wait to check out.

A lovely, compact city with lots of clean, comfortable public spaces. The area around the station is filled with lots of good restaurants and shops and a giant Aeon mall. I would describe the city as a college town, with a young vibe to match. Walkways are wide and clean and the streets fairly easy to drive and navigate, even for new visitors.
The venue is a 15 minute walk from Okayama Station, close to the lovely canal walk. The owner offers bike use for free. I stayed for 2 weeks and found the place very quiet and guests very respectful and owner friendly, welcoming and considerate. Use of washing machine also available but use between 8am and 8pm. Okayama I found very friendly, lots of flowers and nice bike rides into the countryside. God hub to explore other cities and islands in the area.
The hotel was approximately a fifteen minute walk from Okayama train station. The staff were very welcoming. There was a bar on the ground floor with free alcohol, whiskey, gin, bicardi and schnapps. Soft drinks and coffee also available.
There was a onsen at the hotel for guests.
The breakfast in the morning was lovely, so much choice. The hotel was an approximate thirty minute walk from the castle and five mintue walk from restaurants and bars.
We chose this hotel as it was near to the station and we have stayed in Dormy Inns before. We were not disappointed. The onsen (women) was very well equipped with bathing facilities and also empty at the time I visited :). The room was clean and comfortable. We were able to easily walk to places we wanted to visit in Okayama. Having a Dormy Inn 'outfit' in the room is very useful. The evening ramen service was very tasty.
Location is just 10min walk from cental station and also 15min walk from the beautiful Korakuen park.
Its just across the street from the Okayama Symphony hall.
Size of the rooms is of course Japanese style meaning just enough space when traveling solo but with two in the same room that would be crowded, but still doable I think. Scandinavian hotel rooms are efficient but the Japanese rooms top that.
Good value, helpful staff and decent breakfast. Hotel is in a convenient location next to Okayama train station. Taxi to Okayama Castle and its gardens took us only about 20 min and $10. Hotel didn’t mind to keep our luggage after checkout for the whole day. We checked out early morning and came to collect our luggage at 8pm. We stayed only one night, but would happily come back.
The location is amazing, right from inside the train station (so you can even get there by walking if it's raining, since it's all covered).
The staff are incredibly polite, are properly trained.
This was the most fun, comfortable and spacious hotel we had during our trip. If you're using Okayama as a base camp, there's no better place.
The staff were very helpful and lots of little extras are included which makes a difference overall - free welcome drink, free morning coffee, slippers, towel and bath robes. At most other capsule hotels you'd have to pay extra for these. Good location as well - on route between the station and gardens.
The hotel is right next to Okayama castle and garden and two tram stops away from Okayama station so location wise it was great. The hotel itself is very dated. The room and bathroom look like they’re from the 1980s. They will make the room everyday but not your bed.
Such a beautiful, cosy and welcoming place to stay! An easy 5-10min walk from Okayama station and a good base to explore the area. Staff were kind and helpful, facilities were good and easy to use, and I loved the more traditional guesthouse feel!
One thing I particularly loved about Livemax Hotel Okayama was the excellent location. It was just a short walk away from train stations and several shopping centers, making it incredibly easy to explore the city and nearby areas.
We had a room with a good view. The breakfast on the top floor also comes with a panoramic view of the city. The location of the hotel linked to the station and mall provides an easy access regardless of the weather.
The hotel is very well located next to Okayama station. The hotel is modern but in need of an update. Carpets in hallways were worn/dirty and the restaurant looked a little dated. Great views from the top floor.
Great location close to the main Okayama city railway station (at least it’s close when you go out of the right exit…)
There’s also a large shopping mall across the street which is convenient for getting food.
The refurbished building and the new hotel are a couple of years at least. Therefore thru still look pretty new. location is unbeatable, next to the station but not so much and close to bars and restaurants.
Great location, just 5 minutes walk from Okayama Station. Hotel in a very good standard, clean, cozy rooms with all needed amenities. Delicious Japanese breakfasts. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great location, just across the road from Okayama Station, in front of tram stop, also connected to underground shopping. Coin laundry is convenient. Room is spacious.
Staff is kind and can communicate in English. Place is nice and hotel provides free drinks, popsicles, and morning breads. 10min walking distance to station
